SPECIAL PROGRAMS
- Edible Turkey Craft. Tuesday, Nov 8, 1-2 p.m. Looking for something to do on a no-school day? Create a turkey sculpture using fruit, cereals, candy and more! For kids grades K-5. Please register.
- Fall Crafternoon. Thursday, Nov. 10, 2-4 p.m. Drop by the library on your early release day for a fun art project. Create a leaf print greeting card to send to a loved one this holiday season. No registration needed.
- Ask an Organizer! Saturday, Nov. 12, 3-4 p.m. Former early educator and local home organizer Danielle Nicholas of Oasis Organizing Solutions will share tips and trips to help kids learn the importance of taking care of their belongings and maintaining their living/play spaces. For families with children 4+. Space is limited and registration is required.
- Homeschoolers Open House. Monday, Nov. 14, 1-2 p.m. Calling all homeschooling families. Spend an hour meeting other families, learning about library services and resources available to you and doing a fun activity with the kids. All families are welcome, but please register.
- Children’s Book and Media Sale. Wednesday, Nov. 16, 3-8 p.m.; Thursday, Nov. 17 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m.; Friday, Nov. 18 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Saturday, Nov. 19, 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Support the Children’s Dept. programming all year round and get some Christmas shopping done! Friends of the Northborough Library sponsor this book sale, where you will find new and gently used books, music, movies and more for children up to 12 years old.
MONDAYS
- LEGO Club: November 21, 3-5 p.m. Drop by for LEGO Club! Kids an free-build or complete our challenge of the week.
TUESDAYS
- Music Mashup: November 1, 8, 15, 22, 29; 10-10:30 a.m. An engaging and interactive program developed for families with children 2-5. Instruments, scarves and other toys will be used while we read, dance to music and make some noise. No registration required.
WEDNESDAYS
- Mother Goose on the Loose: November 2, 9, 16, 23, 30; 9:45-10:15 a.m. or 10:30-11:00 a.m. This early literacy program supports your child’s development through story, songs, rhymes, bouncing and fingerplays. Musical instruments and puppets will further children’s early learning skills. Best suited for children birth-2 with a favorite adult. No registration required.
- Read to Finnegan: November 2, 9, 30; 3:30-4:15 p.m. Sign up to read to our very special “read” dog. Finnegan is trained to sit with your child and listen to them read. This kind of support from lovable pups can foster your child’s self confidence, build reading skills and it’s just plain fun. Please register.
- Young Scientists: November 2, 9, 23; 1-2 p.m. A 6-week STEM series facilitated by STEM Beginnings for children ages 3-6 with a parent/caregiver. Will learn STEM concepts through hands-on activities, a story, and simple experiments. Siblings are welcomed. Please register. The program is sponsored by the YMCA Family & Community Partnership, a MA Coordinated Family & Community Engagement Grant program funded by the Dept. of Early Education & Care and awarded tot he YMCA of Central MA.
THURSDAYS
- Preschool Story Time: November 3, 10; 10-10:30 a.m. or 1-1:30 p.m. For preschoolers ages 4-5. A story time with a little independence. Join us for stories and a fun craft or activity. No registration required.
FRIDAYS
- Toddler Time: November 4, 18; 10-10:30 a.m. Explore a weekly theme while enjoying age and developmentally appropriate stories, songs, movement activities and fingerplay. Geared towards children ages 2-3 with a favorite adult. No registration required.
- Toddler Zone Playtime: November 4; 10:30-11:30 a.m. Head over to the Room of Requirement – it’s time to play! The room’s door will be closed and special toys brought out for use only during this time. Families with toddlers ages 1-3 are welcome.
SATURDAYS
