Ski Ward Race Team Program Information Night

Ski Ward Race Team Program Information Night

The Ski Ward Race Team will host a program information night on Monday, October 7th at 7:30PM at the Shrewsbury Public Library. Meet coaches and members of the Board, ask questions, and get details on practices, races, equipment and more.

The Ski Ward Race Team (SWRT) is a volunteer-run organization whose mission is to promote the ideals of good sportsmanship, and to provide an opportunity for young skiers to develop and improve their individual skiing and racing skills to the best of their ability in a safe and enjoyable recreational ski team setting.

Our program is founded on the philosophy that sound racing techniques evolve from sound skiing techniques and that the learning process should be a positive and fulfilling experience.

The SWRT competes in the Eastern Massachusetts Buddy Werner League (EMBWL), an entry-level league that is comprised of several teams from the eastern Massachusetts area: Ski Ward, Bradford Ski Team, Nashoba Valley Ski Club, Prospect Hill Ski and Snowboarding Team, and Bogastow (formerly Dover-Sherborn).

Children and Young Adults in grades K through 12 are eligible to join the Ski Ward Race Team. Although no racing experience is necessary, prospective members must be able to ski from the top of Ski Ward with no assistance an be able to ride the T-Bar or chairlift without adult assistance.
