The highlights of Northborough Board of Selectmen, which met on June 28, are below:
- Officer Sean Montville has been promoted to Sergeant! Congratulations! He has been on the Northborough Police team for five years.
- More open space coming your way. The Board approved the conservation restriction on the land of 615 Howard Street, that the town purchased through CPA funding in 2019. It borders Mt. Pisgah land and will expand the trail network in the area. The land is 19.2 acres and was purchased for $390,000. This was presented by Open Space Committee Chair John Campbell.
- Residents are reminded to sign up for Town News.
- Food pantry needs toiletry items.
- Traffic and safety topic questions, including answers to those questions, can be found on the Department of Public Works link on the town website.
- The State revenue outlook is promising! The state will finish Fiscal Year 2021 $4 billion above budget. There’s a lot of discussion at the state level as to how that surplus will be used. Northborough would like to have more funding for transportation funding.
