The Northborough Area Community Chorus (NACC) has traditionally prepared two concerts each year for almost 50 years.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, in-person rehearsals ceased and the 2020 Spring concert “Better Together” was cancelled.
With determination and the hard work of director Elinor A. Armsby, chorus member Kathy Horelik, the chorus board and chorus members, the NACC has put together a virtual presentation.
Practice for this presentation consisted of singing masked and socially distant at outside venues in the fall and multiple virtual Zoom rehearsals online.
The finished product “Stronger Together” may be viewed on the following Cable stations: Northborough, Marlborough and Southborough; on the NACC Facebook and on YouTube.
Chorus members recently entertained the public with Christmas Carols at the 291 West Main Plaza in Northborough and look forward to performing at an outside venue for Northborough Senior Housing.
With the cancellation of two concerts due to the pandemic, the chorus is currently operating with a deficit. As they eagerly prepare for their Golden Anniversary Celebration, they need the publics’ help to raise funds to cover expenses and keep the group an active part of the local community. We look forward to to 2021 with hope for healthy times for all. Watch for the chorus’ plans to celebrate its’ 50th year. Whether in person or virtually, it will be a program to remember.
