This week in Northborough: delayed trash, election, and meetings

It may be a short work week for many, but there is a lot happening in town this week of September 5-11!

  • Labor Day is being observed on Monday, September 5 and town offices will be closed including Town Hall, Senior Center and the Library. That means trash and recycling routes will be delayed one day for the remainder of the week.
  • Candidate flyers have filled mailboxes for weeks. Tuesday, September 6 is the State Primary election. In-person voting is being held at Melican Middle School, 145 Lincoln Street, 7 a.m.-8 p.m. If you are voting by mail, those ballots need to be returned no later than 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 6 and you are encouraged to use the drop-off box in front of town hall. All registered voters are eligible to vote.
  • The Town of Northborough has employment opportunities, including one for a police officer.
  • The Community Preservation Committee is accepting applications for projects.
  • The Cultural Council is also accepting grant applications. Cultural Council also has several openings for new members.
