To the Administration, Teachers and Staff

To the Administration, Teachers and Staff

Remote or hybrid. Asynchronous or synchronous. Cohorts, Zoom and break out rooms.  Risk mitigations, masking, and sanitizing.

We have not experienced a school year like this one before. One thing that hasn’t changed is the tireless dedication of teachers, school staff and the administration. You all have done an exceptional job during this crazy time. The year 2020 is coming to a close and I think we are all ready to say goodbye to it, but not before I have a chance to say thank you.

Thanks to the cafeteria staff. You have worked hard to make the free remote lunch program a success in such an organized way, and continue to serve our kids in an environment that has a lot of restrictions and protocols in place.

Thanks to the custodians and operations staff. You have worked tirelessly to clean, sanitize and make sure everything is 6 feet apart to lessen the risk of exposure for our kids.

Thanks to the administration staff at the district level and school level. You have been transparent through the whole reopening process. You have communicated protocols and resources well. You have updated the website to include everything COVID related. You have endlessly answered questions by phone and emails. You have asked for our input and listened to our concerns. You have made school a safe place for our kids to be able to bring back some normalcy to their lives.

And thanks to all of the caring teachers. You are the cement to the educational process for our kids. You dove into a totally different teaching setting and have been creative to engage students and make connections even when that has required working through lunch periods and adding hours to the end of your day. You continue to be passionate about you students, while juggling the challenges of the new normal both at school and at home with your own families. When everything is uncertain, you have brought a little certainty back to a routine that kids need.

I think we are all a little better having you in our lives. Cheers!

Sincerely,
Liz Nolan
