Town news and updates

The Town of Northborough‘s website continues to keep residents informed with an updated town board and committee meeting calendar, access to meeting minutes and agendas, and important notices. Sign up to receive email messages for the areas of interest, including town news and COVID-19 alerts. Here are some highlights:

  • MASK MANDATE: Northborough’s mask mandate will be reinstated as of Monday, January 10 for individuals ages 2+ regardless of vaccination status. Face coverings that cover the nose and mouth are required in all indoor public spaces, including but not limited to restaurants, retail establishments, bars, performance venues, social clubs, event spaces, healthcare facilities and congregate care settings, places of religious worship and municipal buildings, and private spaces open to the public.
  • TOWN TRASH DELAYS: Due to COVID-19, the town’s trash contractor Republic Services has had significant staffing issues over the past few weeks. Substitute drivers are doing their best to cover the routes and pick up missed collections. If yours was missed, please email townclerk@town.northborough.ma.us or call 508-393-5001. Your patience is appreciated.
  • MLK DAY CLOSURES: The Northborough Town Hall, Library and Senior Center will be closed on Monday, January 17 in observance of Martin Luther King Day. Trash and recycling pick up will be on its regular schedule.
  • TOWN CENSUS: The annual town census and dog license form has been mailed out to residents. The form is available to download and a signed copy can be submitted by email to Census@town.northborough.ma.us. The information supplied by residents is used to assist public safety and emergency responders, apply for grants, assist in calculating State and Federal aid, help project future school enrollment and for registration outreach, and keep the voter list up to date. It also serves as proof of residency, which residents need to qualify for veteran’s benefits, in-state tuition at state schools and other programs.
  • ONLINE BILL PAYMENT/DROP OFF BOX: Residents have the convenience of online payment of town bills. Residents are encouraged to minimize in person interactions due to the increase of COVID-19 cases. Additionally, drop off boxes at town hall are also available – one in front of the building next to the USPS mailbox, and a side slot at the side entrance.
