Northborough Community Affairs Committee (CAC), is excited to announce the first Kindness Week in the town of Northborough! It will run from Monday, February 7 to Sunday, February 13 as a lead up to Valentine’s Day.
The aim is to create a community in which everyone is treated with kindness and respect. The CAC is inviting all community groups, the school district, PTOs, non-profit organizations and clubs to be involved in this initiative.
The Committee will be providing “acts of kindness” suggestions to any group that may want to take part in this important week – schools, town agencies, youth groups, the library, senior center and other non-profits.
Some kindness activity examples are painting kindness rocks, reading books about kindness, leaving a kind message for someone, or donating to a food drive.
Follow the CAC Facebook page to see how kindness is spreading through the community. A town-wide “live” event on Friday, February 11 from 4:30- 5:30 p.m. will be held at the Northborough Town Common (rain date Saturday, February 12). During this event, everyone will receive a luminary bag to decorate and write a kind word on it. Bags will be available for pickup and drop off if someone is unable to attend). All bags will be illuminated at the end. There will be treats for the children too.
A list of volunteer and non-profit opportunities in town will also be compiled and shared.
