The White Cliffs Committee met on December 21. Three proposals of redevelopment and reuse were received. All three proposals involved some restoration of the mansion and the availability of the grounds for public use. Mansion restoration and public access was a requirement for any proposal.
- Historic Artifact Preservation Organization: collaborative workspace and an event venue.
- Downeast Residential: 110 to 160 apartments on the property, which would be a mix of rentals and condos for sale
- Metrowest Collaborative Development: 52 units of intergenerational rental housing.
You can listen as the Committee discusses the proposals and next steps. The recorded meeting is posted on YouTube.
The proposal from Downeast Residential will not go forward as their submission was incomplete.
The Next White Cliffs meeting is planned for the morning of Thursday, January 12, where both remaining firms will be interviewed. The plan is for a face-to-face meeting in Town Hall with the meeting being streamed live and recorded.
