The annual Applefest tradition continues this year, Friday, September 17-Sunday, September 19. Lace the sneakers and join the 5k to be held on Saturday, September 18. The event is sponsored by Boros Cares 4 Troops (BC4T) and the goal is for 500 runners this year.
Walk or run, but preregistration is suggested no later than Sunday, August 15, and you will qualify for a free t-shirt. After August 15, you can register in person on race day and t-shirts will be available for purchase. Register online.
The race will kick off from Robert E. Melican Middle School located at 145 Lincoln Street. Registration will begin at 8 a.m., with the race at 9:30 a.m.
Entry fees are $35/adults and $25/under 18, groups or seniors over 65. Virtual runners and walkers are welcomed to participate.
Gift bags will be provided to all registered participants and medals will be awarded to the first place winners in each category. Bananas and water will be provided.
